Mercer Street Friends

Welcome to Mercer Street Friends Adult Basic Education Program

Join our free, friendly, small-size classes and one-on-one instruction to:

- develop your literacy
- prepare for your GED (General Educational Development) exam
- become a better educated parent
- and shift your job search into high gear

You Can Do It!
Adults (age 16 older) at all literacy levels are welcome to attend our classes at 222 N. Hermitage Avenue in Trenton, convenient to the #608 bus line.

Custom-Designed Instruction
We will assess your literacy level with a TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) Test and plan your instruction with you. Our curriculum includes reading, writing, conversation skills, mathematics, social studies and science. In addition, we discuss smart eating and menu planning, money management and parenting strategies. We also practice basic computer skills, and prepare you for the NJ Department of Motor Vehicles permit test. We can develop your resume and help with your job search, too!

Flexible Schedule
We know you are busy! We'll work with you to develop a schedule that you can keep. We are open for instruction weekdays 9 am to 4 pm, and one evening a week until 8 pm.

Mercer Street Friends Adult Education Program is a member of the Mercer County Workforce Investment Board Literacy Committee and the Mercer County Literacy Consortium.
