Welcome to Mercer Street Friends Job Readiness Services

Individuals receiving General Assistance benefits from the State of New Jersey work with trained staff members at the Mercer Street Friends Opportunity Center who assess their needs and provide services with the primary goal of assisting the individual in securing and maintaining employment. Areas of focus include:
-Interview support
-Job-application preparation
-Resume writing
-Creative transportation planning
-Employer contact
-Follow-up
-Life skills
-Referrals to substance abuse and mental health treatment as needed

The program also includes time for individual and group discussion of barriers to employment and personal growth and development issues.
