Mercer Street Friends

Welcome to Mercer Street Friends School-Age Child Care

Our School-Age Child Care programs offer before- and after-school care in a safe, enriching environment at 6 elementary schools in Hamilton Township. The programs offer a familiar atmosphere and eliminate transportation problems for families. Children in our programs play under adult supervision, receive help with homework and enjoy a nutritious snack. Mercer Street Friends is the only provider of after-school care to the Special Services District schools of Mercer County.

For program information, call Barbara Schollenberger, manager of the School-Age Child Care program, at (609) 278-2400. For billing information, call our business office at (609) 396-1505. The Mercer Street Friends Tax Identification Number is 21-0733990.

Afternoon: Hamilton Township: 3:30 to 5:50 p.m. Regional Day School: 2 to 6 p.m.

Delayed Openings and Emergency Closings

Scheduled Closings - The before- and after-school programs will follow the calendar of the school districts. When the school district is closed, the before- and after-school program will be closed.

Delayed Openings (Before School Programs): If the school district announces a delayed opening of any length, the morning programs will follow the delayed schedule. For example, if the school district announces a 60-minute delay, the morning programs will open at 8:30 a.m.; if it announces a 90-minute delay, programs will open at 9 a.m.

Emergency Closings / Inclement Weather: If there is an emergency closing during the day (that is, if the school or district closes prior to the end of the regular school day) there will be NO after-school program. If weather conditions worsen during the after-school program hours, parents or guardians are asked to pick up their children as soon as possible. Please listen to the school district announcements to determine whether the program is open, delayed or closed. If the district announces during the school day that school is closed, there will be no before and/or after school programs.

For closing information, when schools do not close early, you must call (609) 278-2406 after 12:00 p.m.
