Network Investment Grant Announcement to Partners

Dear Mercer County community members,

I am pleased and excited to share with you that Mercer Street Friends is partnering with Community Food Bank of New Jersey and NORWESCAP to assist in strengthening and increasing the capacity of our network partners to meet the growing need in our communities, especially during COVID-19. As such, in collaboration with New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, $2 million has been allocated to food network partners and we are now inviting you, as a partner of Mercer Street Friends, to apply for a grant to support your good work in the community.

The Network Investment Grant offers priority to small and medium sized food pantries and soup kitchens with an annual operating budget under $500,000. Eligible organizations will either have experienced increased demand for emergency food, anticipate an increased demand, or need funding to continue meeting current needs. Network partners who are not among the priority organizations for this round are still encouraged to apply. The Network Investment Grant will provide between $5,000 and $15,000 to network partners for eligible expenses that include equipment, supplies, staffing, transportation, facilities, administration, and other expenses as appropriate.

To assist in understanding the technicalities of the process, Mercer Street Friends, NORWESCAP and Community Food Bank of New Jersey will host webinars on February 12th at 2pm and February 16th at 6pm.

The application process for the grant opens Wednesday, February 10, 2021 and closes Friday, February 19, 2021.

We’re here to help you continue offering that support.

Wishing you continued good health and safety,
