Bernadette Trapp joined the Mercer Street Friends team in July of 2021. Bernadette oversees the Community School partnerships in Trenton, ensuring staff works collaboratively with the principals to connect schools, students’ families, and community within the greater Trenton area. The connections can be for physical and mental health, basic life needs, academic support and enrichment opportunities for students.
Bernadette also cultivates lasting partnerships with various organizations in the area including The College of New Jersey, Thomas Edison State University, Boys and Girls Club, Isles, Mercer County Community College, Trenton Neighborhood Initiative, Trenton Health Team and Henry J. Austin Health Center to help meet needs of schools, student, and families. She has formed additional relationships with organizations that lobby for Community Schools across the country.
Bernadette greatly enjoys her work with the Community Schools. Embodying the notion of service is important to Bernadette and it is exciting to support Mercer Street Friends’ mission and vision.
