Gravy, Giving, and Gratitude: The Perfect Recipe for a Full Plate

Every fall as Thanksgiving approaches, Mercer Street Friends Food Bank sees an increase in requests for the traditional turkey and fixings. But we see something more this year, and it gives us pause.

We are already seeing longer lines at our pantry partners for daily and weekly food supplements. Our volunteers are packing more weekend food bags for our students across Mercer County. Neighbors are privately reaching out to us on social media, asking where they can find help to feed their families. The urgent calls for food, especially for children, grow louder.

With your support, Mercer Street Friends continues to answer those calls, as we’ve done for nearly 60 years. We hear the calls, see the lines, answer private questions, and respond.

Throughout the year, we witness the generosity of thousands of contributors – through food drives, volunteerism, and philanthropic support. Our neighbors know where to find hunger relief because of you.

Join us today addressing food insecurity. Hunger knows no timeline – but the holidays remind us how important it is to fill the tables of our neighbors. Your gift to Mercer Street Friends today is a gift to the community. It is a message of support for those who are hungry, telling them you’ve heard the call, and you’re ready to respond.

Happy Thanksgiving and thank you,
Mercer Street Friends
