The Preschool is located at 1201 West State Street Trenton N.J.

As a designated special needs district, determined by the NJ Department of Education (DOE), Trenton is mandated to provide early childhood education to 3 and 4-year-olds in the school district. Mercer Street Friends operates its preschool in accordance with requirements and curriculum guidelines established by the NJ DOE.

Mercer Street Friends Preschool
provides a high-quality early childhood education, at little or no cost for children ages 3 to 5 who reside in Trenton. The preschool is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and follows the Trenton Public Schools Calendar.

The facility houses 6 classrooms.

Each classroom is designed around interest areas:
Library, Discovery, Music, Art, Dramatic Play, and Computers.

A staff of certified teachers provides children with a safe, caring, and nurturing environment paired with an innovative curriculum. Our preschool emphasizes cognitive, social, and emotional growth in children.

In addition to building essential academic skills in reading and math,
our curriculum emphasizes the development of the “soft skills” crucial to achieving success in life: curiosity, persistence, self-control, conscientiousness, and self-confidence.

Our students receive nutritious meals
as well as weekend meal packs
through the
Mercer Street Friends
Send Hunger Packing program.
