Mercer Street Friends Preschool opened its doors for the first time since March 2020, welcoming the smiles and laughter of 60 children, ages 3 to 5. The Preschool Summer Program began with an Ice Cream Party and the days have been filled with learning routines, taking part in music and movement, as well as art, dramatic play, reading, recognizing letters, numbers, colors, and shapes! This past week’s theme focused on “Community Workers” which included a visit from our local Fire Department.
Ms. Lisa Banks, Preschool Director, noted, “It is a joy to have children in person, to see them happy and learning. Adjusting to their new environment, the children are “Our Purpose” and the Staff has been amazing – kind, patient, and ready to teach and have fun as well. Our hearts are happy to hear their voices and the noise that they make, the building is once again alive with the sound of children.”
The children have wonderful weeks ahead of them with a visit to Johnsons Corner Farm, soccer sessions, and yoga!
